ATP-CTP

The Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP-CTP) has been a training requirement for pilots wishing to qualify for the FAA Airline Transport Pilot Exam, since 2014.

Requirements include having 1,500 flight hours before applying for an ATP certificate. This is a combination of 500 hours of cross-country time, 100 hours of night flight, 50 hours in the type of airplane for the rating, 75 hours of instrument time, and 250 hours of time as pilot in command (PIC), and more, unless otherwise exempt.

The course can take as little as seven (7) days in a combination of classroom and simulator time. The classes are offered twice a month basis at Sanford and Miami locations.

Course Breakdown & Core Academic Subjects

The ATP-CTP Course Includes:

  • 30 Hours Classroom Instruction
  • 4 Hours of Training in Fixed Based Simulator
  • 6 Hours of Training in Full Motion Flight Simulator
  • Program can be completed in maximum 7 days

REDUCED TRAINING

This core curriculum is the approved course of training which leads to a type rating in the A-320 aircraft and is also the approved course of training for pilots who meet the Air Transport Pilot (ATP) requirements of 14 CFR Part 61 to obtain an ATP certificate. Trainees must successfully complete the applicable A-320 Ground Training curriculum segments, before proceeding to the Flight Training curriculum segments.

NOTE: PIC Initial training program hours reduced if Pilot completes all required maneuvers and is recommended by the instructor for the Practical Test.

  • If the student selects the Distance Learning option, he/she will be required to take a Validation Test prior to continuing with the course curriculum.
The student MUST achieve a minimum passing grade of 80%, corrected to 100%.
If student’s test score is less than 80%, then he/she will be retrained in the substandard areas, and a subsequent reexamination will be required using a random test generator.
The above training and testing must be satisfactorily completed before student may continue with the training curriculum.
  • A 2-hour LOFT is required for Initial Certification or additional Rating if all training and testing is accomplished in a Level C or D simulator.
